Anita Tijoux in Los Angeles

Anita Tijoux recently made her stateside debut at SXSW before heading to LA to begin a tour in support of her new album, 1977. Here's what the LA Weekly had to say:

This collection of Native Tongues-inspired throwback rap seeks introspection over outwardly directed aggression. In truth, Tijoux has a lot to think about--she was born and raised in France after her father fled his native Chile in order to escape the oppressive reign of Augusto Pinochet. Her storied life and her 12 years of music-making provide enough material to make catching both shows--at Little Temple tonight and at La Cita tomorrow --a worthy endeavor.

Anita Tijoux performs at LPR on April 4th. Get tickets here.
