Broza To Perform Van Zandt’s Poetry at LPR

While they only played one show together in 1994, when Townes Van Zandt died he left David Broza with a collection of his poetry to put to music. After years of work, Broza released Night Dawn: The Unpublished Poetry of Townes Van Zandt, which he will be performing songs from at his upcoming performance at LPR.

Broza said the album deals with the truths of mortality and he decided to end the album with an original instrumental “Too Old To Die Young,” which he dedicated to the man he would have liked to have had the chance to perform with on other occasions.

“I never planned on making an album like this,” he said. “But it shows you that you never know what will come from a performance. I had to wait a while and it was a challenge but I am proud and honored to be able to share this with the world.
